These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Noveltree, a digital reading and creator-content platform operated by Fictiondex Inc. dba Noveltree (“Noveltree,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to readers, approved creators, licensors, publishers, collaborators, and other users.

Key points

This summary is for convenience only. The full Terms control if there is a conflict.

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Noveltree.
  • Reader purchases of Coins, content access, Stickers, and platform features are transactions with Noveltree or an authorized payment channel, not direct purchases from creators.
  • Coins and virtual items are closed-loop Noveltree items. They are not cash, legal tender, deposits, securities, open-loop stored value, payment accounts, remittance instruments, creator funds, seller proceeds, redeemable financial assets, investment products, bank accounts, financial instruments, cryptocurrency, or general-purpose payment instruments.
  • Sending a Sticker does not transfer money, Coins, stored value, a gratuity, or other value to a creator. Eligible Sticker activity may still affect platform-calculated Copyright Royalties under the applicable terms.
  • Approved creators may receive Noveltree-calculated Copyright Royalties under the Creator Terms. Under the current paid-access schedule, each royalty-eligible Paid Coin, Promotional Coin, or Creator Consumable Credit consumed for eligible chapter or full-work access generates USD $0.01 in Estimated Copyright Royalties.
  • Content and conduct must follow the Content Guidelines, including Noveltree’s rights, quality, mature-content, public-domain, monetization-integrity, and No-AI rules. Noveltree does not use protected content to train or fine-tune generative AI models and reserves the stated rights against unauthorized scraping, text and data mining, dataset creation, and AI training.
  • Noveltree may moderate content, restrict access, pause royalty review, or suspend accounts where the Terms permit it for safety, rights, fraud, legal, payment, or platform-integrity reasons.
  • Refund and chargeback reviews may temporarily freeze attributable Coins, and a confirmed reversal may create a negative Paid Coin balance. App-store rules, payment-provider rules, mandatory consumer rights, and other non-waivable rights continue to apply.

1. Company information

Noveltree is provided by Fictiondex Inc. dba Noveltree, 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, Toronto, ON M5C 1C4, Canada.

Noveltree is a Canadian service and is not specifically directed to people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland. It may nevertheless be accessible there. Mandatory local consumer, privacy, platform, and other legal rights continue to apply where the law says they do.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Noveltree, creating an account, or purchasing anything through the service, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our Cookie Policy and Virtual Items Policy apply to the features they describe. If a separate product, promotion, Creator Terms, Content Guidelines, Copyright Policy, or publishing agreement applies, that separate agreement or policy will control to the extent of any conflict for the issue it covers.

By affirmatively accepting these Terms at account creation, including the linked Privacy Policy and Virtual Items Policy disclosures incorporated into these Terms, you give account-level consent for Noveltree and RevenueCat to provide Apple with transaction-specific purchase, delivery, consumption, and refund-preference information when Apple reviews a refund request. This consent is not requested again for each Coin purchase. A Coin-purchase clickwrap may separately require acceptance of the applicable Virtual Items Policy and purchase terms. You may withdraw Apple consent for future Apple refund reviews in Privacy settings without losing the ability to read or buy Coins. Withdrawal does not affect processing already completed lawfully before withdrawal or records that must be retained.

Evidence submitted to Google Play, Stripe, or PayPal is not based on that optional Apple consent. Noveltree may process and disclose minimized transaction-specific information to perform and enforce the transaction, prevent or detect fraud and abuse, respond to refunds, disputes, or chargebacks, defend legal claims, and comply with law and provider rules, as described in the linked policies and Payment Dispute Evidence notice.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to access or use Noveltree, create an account, submit content, or otherwise provide information through the service. If local law requires a higher age for a particular transaction or feature, that higher age requirement still applies.

By using Noveltree, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old. We may suspend or terminate access, or delete related data, if we reasonably believe an under-18 person has signed up for or used the service in violation of these Terms.

Noveltree is designed as an adults-only service. We may use age gates, account controls, payment-provider signals, reports, identity checks, or other reasonable measures to enforce this requirement. Do not use Noveltree, submit content, buy Coins, use paid features, or apply as a creator if you are under 18 or under the age required for the relevant feature in your jurisdiction.

4. Accounts and organizations

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. If you use Noveltree on behalf of a creator, publisher, studio, business, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

5. Platform role

Noveltree operates Noveltree, sells or provides Coins and virtual items, and makes eligible digital content and platform features available through Noveltree. Noveltree may host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, recommend, license, promote, secure, monetize, and otherwise operate digital books, chapters, excerpts, annotations, profiles, collections, and other content or features.

Content may be made available through Noveltree or through approved creators, licensors, publishers, or other rights holders. Unless we clearly state otherwise for a separate offering, reader purchases of Coins, virtual items, content access, and platform features are transactions with Noveltree or an authorized app-store or payment channel, not direct purchases from creators.

6. Creator and publisher content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By uploading, importing, posting, or otherwise providing content to Noveltree, you grant Noveltree the rights needed to host, reproduce, format, display, distribute, promote, secure, monetize, and operate the service, including the rights needed to make your content available to readers through authorized Noveltree features.

If you upload or import books, cover art, key art, metadata, collaborator credits, or related materials, you represent that you have the rights necessary to do so. Where available, creator and publisher tools may include file import, chapter organization, collaboration and crediting features, content access settings, analytics, and forecasting tools. You are responsible for how you use those tools and for the accuracy and legality of the materials and information you submit.

Submitted content, cover art, key art, metadata, chapters, and full-work access must comply with Noveltree's Content Guidelines, including content quality, visual-art, AI-content, rights, and monetization-integrity standards.

Historical public-domain works are third-party works whose copyright protection has expired or otherwise no longer applies in the territories where the work would be made available or monetized. They may be allowed, but they are not automatically eligible for paid access, Copyright Royalties, Sticker-associated Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, promotion, or other monetized features. Creators may not submit a historical public-domain work for paid access or monetized features unless Noveltree specifically approves paid access or monetization for that work, version, or edition, or platform tools expressly allow monetization for it. Noveltree may reject, remove, restrict, demonetize, or decline public-domain uploads that are undifferentiated, duplicative, low-quality, poorly formatted, misleading, mostly copied from free sources, insufficiently transformed, or otherwise unsuitable for Noveltree. The Content Guidelines and Creator Terms provide more detail.

You represent and warrant that your submitted content does not infringe, misappropriate, or violate intellectual property, privacy, publicity, moral, contractual, confidentiality, or other rights of any person or entity, is not plagiarized, does not include unauthorized third-party material, and does not contain AI-generated or AI-assisted writing, art, cover art, key art, illustrations, translations, adaptations, outlines, or other creative or editorial content. You may not submit content that was drafted, rewritten, translated, adapted, illustrated, composed, outlined, expanded, or materially assisted by generative AI tools.

Approved creators may receive platform-calculated copyright royalties under applicable Creator Terms. Those amounts are owed by Noveltree according to the applicable Creator Terms and platform records; they are not reader payments, Coins, Stickers, stored value, seller proceeds, or user-to-user transfers.

Noveltree does not use Creator Content to train or fine-tune any generative AI model, and does not permit service providers to use Creator Content for those training or fine-tuning purposes. Noveltree and specialized service providers may process content using automated systems for moderation, abuse prevention, classification, safety, recommendations, metadata generation, and platform operations.

If creator or publisher content is unpublished or removed from new paid access, that change stops new paid access. It does not revoke a license purchased earlier or replace the protection and access terms disclosed for that transaction. Noveltree may still restrict access where required by law, a binding legal order, a substantiated rights claim, a refund or chargeback, fraud or account abuse, or a security emergency that cannot reasonably be addressed through a narrower measure.

7. Reader licenses, content protection, and purchased access

When you access digital content through Noveltree, you receive a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to read and use that content for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the protection mode and other restrictions disclosed before purchase. You do not acquire copyright in the work or a right to redistribute, publish, sublicense, sell, publicly perform, or create unauthorized copies or adaptations.

No DRM. A purchased chapter or eligible complete work includes ownership of a watermark-free personal-use copy, but not copyright in the work. Noveltree may provide a combined EPUB or PDF in the interface after every required chapter has been purchased. If a combined eBook is not available, the reader may request a standalone EPUB of a purchased chapter from support@noveltree.ca. The offline copy does not expire or require an ongoing Noveltree connection. Ordinary unpublishing, later sales-territory changes, and later mobile-access changes do not disable or recall it.

Soft DRM. A purchased chapter or eligible complete work includes ownership of a personalized, watermarked personal-use copy, but not copyright in the work. Noveltree may provide a combined EPUB or PDF in the interface after every required chapter has been purchased. If a combined eBook is not available, the reader may request a standalone EPUB of a purchased chapter from support@noveltree.ca. The offline copy does not expire. Its watermark and associated identifiers remain part of the file and may not be removed. Ordinary unpublishing, later sales-territory changes, and later mobile-access changes do not disable or recall it.

Hard DRM. The reader purchases a personal, non-transferable license to read the content through authorized Noveltree interfaces. Downloads and exports are unavailable. Ordinary unpublishing and later sales-territory changes stop new access but do not revoke that license. If the purchase was identified as app-only, that app-only restriction remains part of the purchase; a later publisher setting cannot make an earlier purchase more restrictive.

Except for the grounds stated in this paragraph, a paid content license does not expire solely because of time, and neither the creator nor publisher may revoke it. Noveltree-hosted access and re-download availability depend on continued service operation and our legal ability to provide the content. Access may be suspended or terminated for a refund, reversal, chargeback, fraud, account abuse, a binding legal requirement, a substantiated rights claim, or a security emergency that cannot reasonably be addressed through a narrower measure. Where applicable law requires a remedy, we will provide the required remedy.

Noveltree content may include visible or invisible watermarks, forensic markers, metadata, account or license identifiers, download identifiers, rights notices, access controls, copy limits, download limits, or other technical protection measures. These measures are intended to deter unauthorized copying and sharing, support rights enforcement, protect creators, and secure the service, but they may not prevent every unauthorized use. You may not remove, alter, obscure, bypass, disable, or interfere with those measures except where expressly permitted by law.

8. Storage, uploads, personal library, and shelf space

Noveltree may allow users to upload or import books, documents, or other files to a private personal library for their own reading and organization. Personal library uploads are for private, personal use only unless Noveltree expressly provides a publishing or sharing feature.

Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to upload, store, access, and use any files they add to their personal library. Personal library uploads may not be used to infringe copyright, share unauthorized copies, distribute pirated works, bypass DRM, or make content available to other users unless expressly permitted by Noveltree and the applicable rights holder.

Noveltree may offer free personal library capacity and may allow users to use Coins or other eligible source buckets to unlock additional shelf space, storage capacity, book slots, or related private-library features. Shelf-space purchases are platform feature purchases and do not create Copyright Royalties, creator payouts, Sticker-associated royalties, user-to-creator transfers, seller proceeds, or creator-held value.

Expanded shelf space is provided subject to account status, technical limits, storage policies, abuse controls, legal requirements, and service availability. Unless otherwise stated at purchase, paid shelf-space entitlements do not expire solely because of time while the user's account remains active and in good standing, but Noveltree may modify, suspend, remove, or discontinue features subject to the Terms and any remedies required by law.

Noveltree may set and change technical, storage, publishing, and upload limits for reader, creator, and publisher features. These limits may include the number of books, projects, chapters, files, images, collaborators, imports, exports, API calls, storage capacity, file size, file type, format, resolution, duration, or processing volume available to an account, plan, feature, beta cohort, or region.

Free limits, including any free book, upload, or storage allowance shown in the service, are not guaranteed to remain available permanently. Noveltree may change, reduce, suspend, or discontinue free features or free limits for product, technical, abuse-prevention, business, legal, or operational reasons.

You are responsible for keeping your own backups of manuscripts, files, metadata, cover art, key art, and other materials you upload or import. Noveltree is not an archival storage, backup, or preservation service.

Noveltree may reject, block, remove, quarantine, compress, transcode, transform, or limit files or content that exceed applicable limits, appear corrupted, are unsupported, create security or operational risk, violate these Terms, or interfere with the service.

If Noveltree materially changes limits for paid features, we will provide any notice or remedy required by applicable law.

9. Purchases and pricing

Noveltree may offer digital content access, Coins, chapter unlocks, full-work unlocks, Stickers, and other paid platform features. Before you complete a covered transaction, we will provide the material information required by applicable law, which may include the main characteristics of the product or service, the total price, applicable taxes, billing frequency, cancellation or cooling-off rights, technical requirements, and any restrictions or limitations that apply.

We will not intentionally advertise a price that is unavailable because mandatory fixed charges are added later, except for government-imposed charges such as sales tax where the law permits separate display. Any mandatory platform, payment-channel, or app-store charges we control and are required to display will be shown before checkout.

Coins and virtual items are governed by our Virtual Items Policy. App-store purchases through Apple App Store, Google Play, or other app stores may also be subject to those providers' purchase, billing, refund, restoration, and cancellation rules. Refund and chargeback evidence, temporary Coin freezes, reversals, and negative Paid Coin balances are further described in our Payment Dispute Evidence notice.

Where required by law, we will also provide or make available a confirmation record of your order or internet agreement after purchase.

When chapter pricing is off, the full-work price is the price for full-work access. For a completed chapter-priced work with a positive full-work price, that price acts as a cap for the same edition. Eligible amounts already charged for chapters of that edition count toward the cap, and the reader pays only the lesser of the unpaid cap balance and the price of the remaining paid chapters. Free chapters do not count as chapter payments, and inactive or reversed chapter entitlements do not count toward the active purchase calculation. When chapter pricing is on and no positive full-work cap applies, including for a completed work without one, the available bulk offer covers only the currently published, unowned paid chapters at their combined remaining price. It grants those chapter entitlements, not full-work access or future chapters. A publisher- or creator-designated free chapter grants the complete eligible chapter at zero Coins; a preview is only a limited excerpt or promotional view and does not itself grant a chapter or full-work purchase entitlement.

10. Virtual items, Coins, and Creator Consumable Credits

Coins and other virtual items are closed-loop in-app digital items usable only inside Noveltree for eligible digital content and platform features. They are not cash, legal tender, deposits, securities, open-loop stored value, payment accounts, remittance instruments, creator funds, seller proceeds, redeemable financial assets, investment products, bank accounts, financial instruments, cryptocurrency, or general-purpose payment instruments. Except where required by law, they cannot be redeemed for cash.

Coins and virtual items cannot be transferred user-to-user, sold, traded, pledged, sublicensed, exchanged with other users, sent to creators, or used outside Noveltree. The Virtual Items Policy controls to the extent it conflicts with these Terms on matters specific to virtual items.

Coins may be used for eligible personal-library features, including expanded shelf space, book slots, storage capacity, import features, or related private-reading tools where offered. These features are internal Noveltree platform features and do not generate Copyright Royalties, Sticker-associated Copyright Royalties, creator payouts, seller proceeds, or user-to-creator transfers.

Creator Consumable Credits, if offered, are separate closed-loop credits issued only after an eligible creator elects to apply a permitted portion of net approved Copyright Royalties and Noveltree accepts the election under the Creator Terms. Creator Consumable Credits are not Coins purchased by readers, cash substitutes, deposits, stored funds, payment accounts, financial assets, or amounts redeemable back into Copyright Royalties or cash.

Promotional Coins may be used for eligible chapter access, full-work access, Stickers, and other eligible reader-facing Coin features unless different restrictions are disclosed when they are granted. Creator Consumable Credits may be used for eligible chapter and full-work access, but not for Stickers unless Noveltree expressly enables that use.

11. Stickers

Stickers are digital expressive, collectible, visual, social, display, and content-associated platform items made available by Noveltree within Noveltree. Users may send or use Stickers on eligible Noveltree content, such as a chapter, book, series, creator profile, or creator catalogue.

Sending or using a Sticker means using eligible Coins or credits to cause a Noveltree-supplied digital Sticker item, reaction, visual artifact, association, notification, display, or platform event to appear in connection with eligible literary content or another eligible Noveltree surface. Sending or using a Sticker does not transfer money, Coins, stored value, proceeds, funds, or financial assets to a creator, and does not create a creator wallet or creator-held balance.

For royalty-calculation purposes, Sticker activity is eligible only where Noveltree treats it as associated with eligible literary content, a book, chapter, series, creator catalogue, or another content-associated Noveltree surface. Sticker activity on non-content surfaces may be display-only, non-compensable, excluded, capped, weighted differently, or otherwise treated under platform rules.

Stickers have independent product utility. They are visual, may be rare or seasonal, may be associated with chapters or books, and creators may be able to display received Stickers on their profile, content pages, or other Noveltree surfaces.

A received Sticker is a visual and social platform artifact only. It is not money, Coins, stored value, Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, a payout right, a financial asset, or a creator-owned balance. A Sticker cannot be redeemed, sold, traded, transferred, exchanged for cash, converted into Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, Coins, or any other value.

A Sticker's association with a book, chapter, series, creator profile, or creator catalogue does not make the Sticker part of the underlying literary work, transfer ownership of the Sticker or literary work, or grant any separate rights in the Sticker, literary work, or combined display. Noveltree may remove, hide, moderate, expire, rotate, or change Sticker display features under the applicable terms and platform rules.

Sticker activity may be one content-associated engagement input in Noveltree's platform-calculated Copyright Royalties under the applicable Creator Terms. Sticker-associated Copyright Royalties are Noveltree-calculated copyright royalties for licensed literary works, not tips, donations, gifts, gratuities, service fees, reader-to-creator transfers, pass-through payments, remittances, seller proceeds, creator funds, or payments from the user who sent the Sticker.

A Sticker's Coin cost, rarity, category, display treatment, promotional value, seasonal status, or user-facing presentation does not create a fixed creator entitlement, represent funds held for a creator, or mean the sender's Coins are transferred to the creator. Noveltree may determine royalty values, rates, weights, multipliers, formulas, pools, caps, exclusions, or eligibility rules for Sticker activity by source bucket, territory, content type, category, rarity, fraud status, rights status, account status, refund or chargeback status, or other platform-defined factors.

12. Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, and payout eligibility

Creator dashboards, reports, forecasts, and similar displays may show Estimated Copyright Royalties in fiat or accounting value. Estimated Copyright Royalties are preliminary, informational, non-final, non-transferable, and non-payable. They do not represent wallet balances, stored-value balances, deposits, available funds, seller proceeds, creator funds, trust funds, or funds held on behalf of creators.

No debt, payable obligation, trust relationship, custodial relationship, or payment obligation arises for Estimated Copyright Royalties unless and until Noveltree approves Copyright Royalties under the applicable Creator Terms. Creators have no ownership, custody, trust, lien, beneficial interest, security interest, or claim in any specific reader payment, Coin purchase, Coin use, Sticker activity, platform receipt, or source-bucketed transaction.

Approved Copyright Royalties are Noveltree-reviewed royalties eligible for scheduled treatment under the applicable Creator Terms. Scheduled Royalty Payouts are paid by Noveltree through PayPal, Stripe, bank transfer, or another payout provider we support. Creators cannot control payout timing, request immediate payment, or direct payout of unpaid amounts outside Noveltree's scheduled payout process. The current default Scheduled Royalty Payout cadence is monthly, subject to payout eligibility, review, payment-provider availability, thresholds, holds, reserves, exceptions, and any approved creator-specific or publisher-specific terms. For a clear explanation of reader payments, Coins, royalty base calculations, and scheduled payouts, see Payments & Royalties.

If offered, an eligible creator may elect to apply up to a permitted portion of net approved Copyright Royalties to Creator Consumable Credits, subject to Noveltree approval, feature availability, source-bucket rules, tax review, reporting or reserve needs, payout eligibility, sanctions screening, fraud review, rights review, payment-provider requirements, and compliance review. The permitted portion may be up to 50% of net approved Copyright Royalties unless Noveltree sets a lower limit or disables the feature.

Creator Consumable Credits cannot be used for Stickers unless Noveltree expressly enables that source bucket for Sticker use. If Noveltree later enables Creator Consumable Credits for Stickers, that Sticker activity will be source-bucketed separately and will be non-compensable by default unless Noveltree expressly includes it in the applicable royalty formula. Using Creator Consumable Credits for a Sticker would not transfer money, Coins, Copyright Royalties, stored value, or other value to any creator. Noveltree may exclude, reduce, reverse, reserve, cap, weight differently, or treat as ineligible or non-compensable any Sticker activity funded by Creator Consumable Credits, promotional credits, bonus credits, test or administrative credits, refunded or reversed Coins, self-dealing, related accounts, collusion, fraud, abuse, rights issues, sanctions risk, chargebacks, refunds, or platform-integrity concerns.

When Paid Coins, Promotional Coins, or Creator Consumable Credits are consumed for eligible chapter or full-work access, each unit generates the same USD $0.01 Paid Access Royalty under the current schedule. Publisher- or creator-designated free access uses no units and generates no Paid Access Royalty. Test and administrative credits remain ineligible.

"Net approved Copyright Royalties" means Approved Copyright Royalties remaining after applicable reserves, offsets, refunds, chargebacks, reversals, tax review, withholding or reporting reserves, sanctions or compliance holds, payout-provider requirements, fraud review, rights review, and platform-integrity adjustments. Creator Consumable Credits cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred, sold, traded, pledged, converted back into Copyright Royalties, or used outside Noveltree.

Payout eligibility and any Creator Consumable Credit Election may require complete legal and tax information, a supported payout method, identity or business verification, sanctions screening, fraud review, and compliance review. Identity or business verification may be required before first payout, after lifetime earnings thresholds, after payout-method changes, before a Creator Consumable Credit Election, or when risk, fraud, sanctions, tax, payment-provider, or compliance triggers apply. Changes to payout information may trigger verification, review, waiting periods, or temporary payout pauses.

Noveltree may pause monetization, limit access to paid creator features, deny or delay a Creator Consumable Credit Election, or suspend further accrual of Copyright Royalties if a creator has not completed payout eligibility after reaching applicable thresholds or after Noveltree requests required tax, payout, identity, verification, or compliance information.

If approved Copyright Royalties cannot receive scheduled treatment because a creator has not completed payout eligibility, has provided inaccurate or incomplete tax or payout information, has not completed required identity or business verification, cannot receive payment through a supported payout method, cannot be contacted, is subject to sanctions, fraud, risk, payment-provider, rights, tax, or compliance review, or otherwise fails to satisfy the applicable Creator Terms, Noveltree may pause, delay, offset, reverse, decline scheduled payout, or deny a Creator Consumable Credit Election for those royalties as permitted under the applicable terms and law.

Noveltree may make reasonable efforts to contact the creator using the contact information associated with the creator's account. If approved Copyright Royalties remain unpaid or unclaimed for the period required by applicable law, Noveltree may report, remit, transfer, or otherwise handle the amount as unclaimed property, abandoned property, or similar property as required or permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this section creates a creator wallet, stored-value account, creator-held balance, or right to control payout timing. Copyright Royalties, Scheduled Royalty Payouts, and Creator Consumable Credit Elections remain subject to the applicable Creator Terms, payout eligibility requirements, source-bucket rules, and Noveltree's scheduled payout process.

13. Taxes

Creators are responsible for determining, reporting, and paying taxes arising from their Noveltree activity. Noveltree does not provide tax advice. Before or after enabling Copyright Royalties, Scheduled Royalty Payouts, or Creator Consumable Credit Elections, Noveltree may request tax information, tax residency information, taxpayer identification numbers, certifications, or tax forms, including forms such as W-9, W-8 series forms, Canadian tax information, or other local equivalents where applicable.

Noveltree may pause, delay, decline, limit, reserve, offset, deduct, reclassify, report, remit, or withhold amounts if required tax information is incomplete, inaccurate, expired, or not provided, or if Noveltree determines that action is required or prudent under applicable law or platform policy. Noveltree does not withhold Coins, Stickers, or Creator Consumable Credits. Where withholding, reporting, reserves, offsets, or tax payment obligations apply, Noveltree may handle those obligations in fiat or accounting value before any Scheduled Royalty Payout or Creator Consumable Credit Election.

14. Sanctions, restricted countries, and payout availability

You may not use Noveltree, Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, virtual items, Stickers, or payout features in a way that violates sanctions, export-control, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorist-financing, tax, or other applicable laws.

Noveltree may screen users, creators, businesses, payout methods, countries, transactions, Sticker activity, and content activity for sanctions, fraud, tax, payment, and compliance risk. Noveltree may pause, delay, decline, reverse, or cancel access, Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credit Elections, platform features, or payouts where required by law, requested by a payment provider, or reasonably necessary to manage legal or platform risk. A country being unsanctioned does not guarantee payout availability.

15. Business accounts and verification

If you use Noveltree for a business, publisher, studio, or other organization, Noveltree may require business verification, authority verification, control-person information, beneficial-ownership information, tax information, payout-method verification, or other information needed to operate Copyright Royalties, Scheduled Royalty Payouts, Creator Consumable Credit Elections, comply with law, or manage platform risk.

16. Content moderation and reports

Noveltree may moderate content, profiles, reviews, collections, Sticker features, and Sticker activity. When related content or activity appears unlawful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, sexually explicit beyond permitted limits, hateful, harassing, unsafe, spammy, or inconsistent with our Content Guidelines, platform rules, or app-store requirements, we may remove or restrict it, age-gate it, disable access to it, disable related monetization, or take action affecting related Copyright Royalties.

Users may report content or users through Noveltree's available reporting tools or contact channels. Noveltree may respond to reports by removing content, limiting visibility, disabling Sticker features, pausing Copyright Royalties review, suspending accounts, or taking other reasonable steps.

If Noveltree suspects submitted content or activity violates Noveltree's AI-content rules, Noveltree may reject, remove, restrict, demonetize, or decline to publish the content; exclude related activity from Copyright Royalties; reverse or offset related Copyright Royalties; pause Creator Consumable Credit Elections or Scheduled Royalty Payouts; or review, suspend, or terminate the related account or creator participation.

Reviews, comments, public messages, profile text, collection descriptions, tags, reports, and other public-facing user submissions must be written in your own words. You may not submit AI-generated or materially AI-assisted reviews, comments, messages, fake engagement, bulk-generated commentary, or content designed to manipulate rankings, recommendations, ratings, moderation, Sticker activity, Copyright Royalties, or creator engagement signals.

Automated AI-detector outputs alone are not conclusive proof of an AI-content violation. Noveltree may consider automated signals as one input, may request reasonable evidence of authorship, source assets, or creative process, and may take temporary or precautionary action while a review is pending where needed for legal, safety, rights, app-store, fraud, abuse, or platform-integrity reasons.

Reports of illegal content should include the content location, the legal reason you believe the content is illegal, your name and email address unless the report involves sexual exploitation or abuse material, and a statement that your report is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge. Where required by law, Noveltree will provide information about moderation decisions and available appeal options.

For public user-generated content and user-to-user interaction features, users may use reporting, blocking, muting, filtering, account controls, or similar safety tools where those tools apply. Noveltree may require, enable, disable, modify, or enforce these controls for comments, messages, profiles, creator pages, Sticker activity, and other user-generated or interactive areas to reduce abuse, unlawful content, unwanted contact, or platform risk.

Users, authorities, and other reporters may use support@noveltree.ca for illegal-content reports, moderation appeals, and legally required communications. Communications may be sent in English. Our Content Guidelines provide more detail about reports and appeals.

17. Copyright and rights complaints

If you believe content on Noveltree infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at copyright@noveltree.ca with enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing content, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith basis for the complaint. Noveltree may remove or restrict disputed content, disable related monetization, or pause payout review while reviewing a complaint. Repeat or serious infringers may be suspended or terminated.

Our Copyright Policy explains how to submit rights complaints, what information to include, how we may handle counter-notices or creator responses where available, and how repeat infringement may affect account access, creator participation, monetization, and payouts.

18. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Noveltree. This includes attempting unauthorized access, interfering with the service, violating laws, infringing intellectual property rights, harassing others, manipulating tags, reviews, or discovery systems, scraping, crawling, harvesting, bulk copying, extracting, or training on protected content, bypassing payment flows, rate limits, robots.txt instructions, content protections, watermarks, or access controls, or using Noveltree to distribute malware, unlawful content, or fraudulent materials.

Ordinary access by recognized search-engine crawlers is permitted for public pages only where the crawler follows our robots.txt, rate limits, published instructions, and applicable law. Noveltree may use reasonable technical, contractual, and operational measures to detect, prevent, throttle, block, or investigate scraping, automated harvesting, excessive requests, unauthorized content extraction, abuse, or attempts to bypass content protections.

You may not use Noveltree to create fake, misleading, low-effort, infringing, or sham content for the purpose of generating Sticker activity, creator engagement signals, Copyright Royalties, Creator Consumable Credits, or payouts. You may not engage in artificial Sticker activity, reciprocal engagement schemes, collusive engagement, fake reviews, fake collections, shared-account abuse, payment-method abuse, refund or chargeback abuse, sanctions evasion, tax-information evasion, or attempts to convert promotional, administrative, disputed, refunded, or suspicious activity into payout-eligible Copyright Royalties or Creator Consumable Credits.

You may not use generative AI tools, bots, scripts, automation, or bulk-generation systems to create reviews, comments, messages, reports, collections, profile text, tags, or other public-facing user submissions, or to create fake, misleading, deceptive, spammy, or manipulative engagement.

Noveltree may restrict, exclude, weight, cap, reverse, reserve, or deny royalty treatment for activity connected to suspected abuse, fake content, invalid content contexts, suspicious Sticker activity, Creator Consumable Credits, promotional credits, test credits, related accounts, reciprocal creator loops, payment disputes, refunds, chargebacks, sanctions risk, tax risk, payout-method mismatch, rights issues, or violation of these Terms.

19. No generative AI training or fine-tuning; text and data mining reservation

Noveltree does not use Creator Content, licensed books, private-library uploads, protected reading content, public reviews, comments, messages, profile text, collection descriptions, or other user submissions to train or fine-tune any generative AI model, and does not permit service providers to use that content for those training or fine-tuning purposes.

Noveltree and specialized service providers may process content using automated systems for moderation, abuse prevention, classification, safety, recommendations, metadata generation, accessibility, security, copyright compliance, and platform operations. Those operational uses involve processing content; they do not permit training or fine-tuning any generative AI model on Creator Content, protected reading content, or public user submissions.

Except where Noveltree expressly allows it in writing or where non-waivable law requires otherwise, Noveltree and its creators, licensors, publishers, and rights holders reserve all rights to Noveltree content and data, including for text and data mining, scraping, dataset creation, machine learning, AI training, model fine-tuning, model development, model evaluation, benchmarking, retrieval-augmented generation, embedding generation, and use as prompts, context, source material, or training or evaluation data.

Users, bots, crawlers, scrapers, and automated systems may not copy, extract, retain, process, or use Noveltree content or data for those purposes except through authorized Noveltree interfaces and only as permitted by these Terms, written agreements, robots.txt instructions, machine-readable rights reservations, technical restrictions, and applicable law.

This does not prevent ordinary search-engine indexing or social link previews of public Noveltree pages where the crawler follows Noveltree's robots.txt, rate limits, published instructions, and applicable law.

20. Intellectual property

Noveltree and its licensors own Noveltree and related software, branding, design, and service content other than user-submitted content. Except as expressly allowed by law or by us in writing, you may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from Noveltree or its non-user content.

Noveltree owns the Noveltree name, logos, trademarks, service marks, trade dress, branding, product names, interface designs, and related goodwill. You may not copy, modify, use, register, or claim rights in Noveltree branding except as expressly permitted by Noveltree in writing or by any published brand guidelines. You may make truthful, non-misleading references to Noveltree, such as stating that your work is available on Noveltree, provided you do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, certification, special placement, or approval by Noveltree. Noveltree may require you to modify or stop any use of Noveltree branding that Noveltree believes is confusing, misleading, unlawful, or inconsistent with any brand guidelines.

21. Service changes, suspension, and termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of Noveltree where reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, product changes, or abuse prevention. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or create risk for Noveltree, users, creators, or rights holders.

We will not limit non-waivable consumer rights, and we will not use these Terms to unfairly deprive you of paid digital content, paid virtual items, or mandatory remedies where the law requires otherwise.

22. Recommendations and discovery

Search, recommendation, ranking, analytics, and forecasting features may rely on automated systems, editorial choices, user activity, and other platform signals. We do not guarantee any specific placement, visibility, traffic, sales, earnings, or reading outcomes.

23. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noveltree is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Except for rights that cannot be excluded by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, quiet enjoyment, and non-infringement.

24. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Noveltree is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from or related to Noveltree. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

25. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you are a consumer, any mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction continue to apply and are not displaced by this section.

26. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide any additional notice required by law. If applicable law or the nature of a future change requires renewed affirmative acceptance, Noveltree will request it before the affected processing or feature begins; otherwise, the updated Terms apply from their stated effective date.
