This page answers common reader privacy questions in plain language. It does not replace the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Content Guidelines, or other Noveltree terms. Those documents control if there is a conflict.

Quick Answers

  • Your private reading library is not a public profile.
  • Creators do not receive your private notes, highlights, reading progress, or uploaded personal-library files.
  • Personal-library uploads and imports are not published on Noveltree, listed in search, or added to the public catalog just because you upload or import them for private reading.
  • Public reviews, comments, profile activity, and other public contributions may identify the account or alias that posted them. Reports and support requests may identify you to Noveltree.
  • Noveltree does not use Creator Content or personal-library uploads or imports to train or fine-tune any generative AI model, and does not permit service providers to use that content for those training or fine-tuning purposes. Noveltree and specialized service providers may process content using automated systems for moderation, abuse prevention, classification, safety, recommendations, metadata generation, and platform operations.
  • Noveltree may process library and reading information to provide reading progress, downloads, sync, search, recommendations, safety controls, support, rights protection, and anti-scraping controls.

Can Other Users See My Private Library?

No. Your private library, personal-library uploads or imports, private notes, highlights, bookmarks, reading progress, storage usage, and private organization data are not public profile content.

Other users may see public activity you choose to create, such as reviews, comments, profile content, public collection information, or other public contributions.

Can Creators See What I Read?

Creators do not receive your personal information merely because you view, unlock, save, follow, send Stickers in connection with, or otherwise interact with their work.

Noveltree may provide creators with aggregate, de-identified, or limited analytics where permitted by the Privacy Policy, Creator Terms, platform rules, and applicable law. For example, Noveltree may show creator-facing dashboard or reporting information about eligible activity without giving creators your private library, private notes, or personal-library files.

Can Creators See My Notes, Highlights, Or Reading Progress?

Not just because you read their work. Your private highlights, notes, bookmarks, and reading progress are used to provide reader features such as progress sync, reading continuity, annotations, organization, and support.

If you choose to post a public review, comment, profile update, or other public contribution, that public content and the associated account or alias may be visible to other users, including creators.

What Happens When I Upload Or Import Personal-Library Files?

If you use personal-library upload or import features, Noveltree may process the files you upload or import, file names, file metadata, reading progress, annotations, organization data, storage usage, sync data, and related technical information.

Noveltree uses that information to provide private reading, shelf-space, storage, import, sync, organization, abuse-prevention, copyright-compliance, security, and support features. Personal-library uploads are not provided to creators just because you upload or read them in your private library.

Are Personal-Library Uploads Published On Noveltree?

No. Uploading or importing a file for private reading does not publish that file, list it in Noveltree search, make it available to creators, add it to the public catalog, or make it eligible for creator royalties.

Publishing through creator or publisher tools is separate from private-library upload or import features and is governed by the Creator Terms, Content Guidelines, and applicable program rules.

Is Noveltree My Backup Service?

No. Personal-library features are meant for reading, storage, organization, and sync inside Noveltree. You should keep your own copies of files, notes, highlights, records, and other materials you want to preserve.

Noveltree does not promise that personal-library files, synced reading data, downloads, or shelf-space features will be available forever or function as a permanent archive.

Does Noveltree Scan Or Process Uploaded Books?

Yes, in limited ways needed to run the feature. Noveltree may process uploaded or imported files for storage, format handling, metadata extraction, organization, sync, search and organization features where available, security, abuse prevention, copyright compliance, troubleshooting, and support.

Noveltree may also review relevant files or records if needed for support you request, suspected abuse, security, rights issues, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or platform integrity.

When Would Noveltree Review Private Library Files?

Noveltree may review relevant private-library files, metadata, logs, or related records if needed for a support request, suspected abuse, a security issue, a copyright or rights complaint, fraud prevention, legal process, compliance, dispute resolution, or platform-integrity review.

That review is for operating, securing, supporting, and protecting Noveltree. It does not mean your private uploads are published or made available to creators.

Are My Uploaded Or Imported Books Used For AI?

Fictiondex Inc. dba Noveltree does not use personal-library uploads or imports to train or fine-tune any generative AI model, and does not permit service providers to use those files for those training or fine-tuning purposes.

Fictiondex Inc. dba Noveltree and specialized service providers may process content using automated systems for moderation, abuse prevention, classification, safety, recommendations, metadata generation, and platform operations.

How Are Recommendations And Search Personalized?

Noveltree may use information such as reading activity, searches, saves, unlocks, tags, follows, reports, Sticker activity, downloads, device or session signals, and other interactions to provide search, recommendations, ranking, discovery, reading continuity, safety controls, and support.

Automated systems and human review may be used for recommendations, content safety, fraud detection, abuse prevention, identity verification, payout eligibility, sanctions or compliance review, and platform operations, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Do You Sell My Reading History?

Fictiondex Inc. dba Noveltree does not sell personal information for money. That includes reading history, private notes, highlights, reading progress, searches, saves, uploads, and private-library activity.

Some privacy laws define "sell," "share," or "targeted advertising" more broadly than a sale for money. Where those laws apply, Noveltree will provide any required notices and choices for advertising, analytics, or similar data practices.

Do Public Reviews And Comments Work Differently?

Yes. Reviews, comments, profile content, and other public contributions are different from private library notes. They may be visible to other users and may identify the account or alias that posted them. Reports and support requests are submitted to Noveltree and may identify you to Noveltree.

Reviews, comments, and other user submissions must follow the Content Guidelines, including Noveltree's No-AI, harassment, spam, rights, and safety rules.

Can I Use Noveltree Without Sharing Public Activity?

Yes. Reading, private-library uploads, private notes, private highlights, bookmarks, and reading progress can be used as private account features.

Public actions are different. Reviews, comments, profile content, public collection information, and other public contributions may be visible to other users and may identify the account or alias that posted them.

What About Downloads And Watermarking?

Noveltree may use account, device, session, purchase, download, watermark, license, and access information to protect content access, prevent scraping or unauthorized copying, enforce limits, process refunds or disputes, support creators, and investigate rights or security issues.

Watermarking and access-protection records are not public reader profiles. They are used for platform operations, rights protection, dispute resolution, security, support, and compliance.

Do Personal-Library Uploads Create Creator Royalties?

No. Personal-library shelf-space purchases and private uploads are platform feature uses. They do not create Copyright Royalties or user-to-creator transfers.

Creator royalties are calculated under the Creator Terms from eligible Noveltree platform activity such as eligible chapter access, eligible full-work access, and eligible Sticker-associated activity.

Can Noveltree Staff Or Providers Access My Library Data?

Access is limited to what is needed to provide, secure, support, and operate Noveltree. Noveltree personnel and service providers may process library data, uploaded files, logs, or related records when needed for hosting, storage, sync, support, security, abuse prevention, copyright compliance, payment or refund support, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or other platform operations.

What Happens If Content Is Removed Or My Account Closes?

Access to uploaded or imported files, synced notes, highlights, bookmarks, downloads, shelf-space features, and related records may be limited or lost if your account is closed, suspended, terminated, inactive, or if a feature changes, is suspended, or is discontinued.

Any refund, cancellation, preservation, access, deletion, or other rights required by law still apply. Some records may also need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, security, dispute-resolution, rights-management, backup, or compliance reasons.

Can I Delete My Account Or Library Data?

You can request account deletion or privacy rights as described in the Account Deletion page and Privacy Policy.

Some records may need to be retained for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, transaction-record, security, dispute-resolution, rights-management, backup, or compliance reasons. Deletion may not immediately remove data from every backup, log, cache, legal record, transaction record, or operational system.

Where Can I Read The Full Policy?

See the Privacy Policy for the full privacy terms. For questions, contact support@noveltree.ca.
